SRW condemns terrorist attack against Shia civilians in Parachinar, Pakistan

Shia Rights Watch (SRW), an international pro-Shia rights organization, has strongly condemned the horrific massacre that targeted Shia civilians in Parachinar, northwest Pakistan, holding Pakistani authorities legally responsible for what it described as a heinous crime.

The organization has called for an immediate and transparent investigation to identify and punish the perpetrators.

According to a statement received by Shia Waves Agency, SRW said the attack occurred on November 21, 2024, targeted buses carrying dozens of civilians to their homes, resulting in the martyrdom of more than 40 people and injured over 60 others.

Local reports indicate that an extremist terrorist group, whose identity remains undisclosed, carried out the attack using machine guns, targeting buses on a major road leading to Parachinar, a predominantly Shia-populated area.

This attack is part of an ongoing series of terrorist operations targeting the Shia community in Pakistan, which have significantly escalated in recent years.

Shia Rights Watch expressed deep concern over the deteriorating security situation in Pakistan, pointing to what it described as the “persistent negligence” of security authorities in protecting the Shia community against terrorist attacks.

The organization added that the continuation of these unbridled acts of brutality poses a severe threat to human rights and social security, calling on the international community and global human rights organizations to pressure the Pakistani government to ensure the safety of religious minorities and to initiate an international investigation into these repeated violations.

This crime highlights the scale of the security challenges faced by Pakistan and underscores the urgent need to strengthen national and international efforts to combat terrorism and hold those responsible accountable.
