UK mosque hosts workshop on drug awareness for youth
Faizan Mosque in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, organized a workshop to raise awareness about the dangers of drugs and prevent substance abuse among youth.
The event aimed to combat addiction and educate on issues leading to drug use, attracting dozens of young people from various backgrounds who engaged actively in discussions.
The workshop, overseen by local physician Dr. Azhar Chaudhry, addressed addiction challenges and offered support strategies. Dr. Chaudhry emphasized the complexity of addiction and praised participants’ positive engagement, noting that such workshops promote awareness and responsibility.
Raja Ilyas of the charity Aspire called the workshop a significant step toward addressing drug issues among youth. Faizan Mosque leaders commended the participation, reaffirming the mosque’s role in tackling vital issues and supporting young people in making informed life choices.
