Large crowds of believers perform Eid al-Adha prayer in congregation in Holy Karbala

Large crowds of Shia followers of Ahlulbayt, peace be upon them, from Iraq and other countries gathered today the 10th of Dhu al-Hijjah to perform Eid al-Adha prayers in congregation in the area between the two holy shrines.

Shia Waves correspondent said that “the worshippers expressed their happiness on Eid al-Adha, and having performed the religious rituals of the night and day of Arafah at the shrines of the Master of Martyrs, Imam Hussein, and his brother Abu al-Fadl al-Abbas, peace be upon them.”

He added that “the honourable pilgrims prayed to Allah Almighty to bring forward the blessed reappearance of Imam al-Mahdi, peace be upon him, so they can perform their prayers and rituals in his presence.”

For several days, the holy city of Karbala had been under heightened security measures in preparation for the millions of visitors participating in the pilgrimage to the shrines of Imam Hussein and his brother Abu al-Fadl al-Abbas, peace be upon them, on the night and day of Arafah and for the Eid prayers.
