Iraq launches nationwide campaign to vaccinate 7M school children against measles

The Iraqi Ministry of Education announced today, Sunday, that its teams, in cooperation with the Minister of Health, have launched a 10-day campaign to vaccinate more than 7M school children against measles.

According to an official statement released by the Ministry of Education, “The Minister of Education, Namis Al-Jabbori, has initiated the national-wide campaign in a primary school in Baghdad, to vaccinate school children against measles.”

Mr. Al-Jabbori was accompanied by the Minister of Health, the advisor to Iraq’s prime minister and the UNICEF’s representative in Iraq and other officials from concerned departments.

From his part, the Minister of Education called on all educational departments and institutions included on the vaccination campaign, as well as families to cooperate with the mobile medical units.
