The All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) has expressed strong opposition to the Joint Committee’s report on the Waqf (Amendment) Bill, claiming it disregards the opinions of Indian Muslims and follows an “arbitrary undemocratic process,” Deccan Herald reported.
AIMPLB President Khalid Saifullah Rahmani stated that if the bill is passed, a nationwide movement will be initiated within constitutional bounds. The board urged the government to withdraw the bill, emphasizing that management of mosques and religious sites should remain with the Muslim community.

The AIMPLB criticized the government’s portrayal of Waqf as a threat to property rights and highlighted widespread objections from Muslims across India. They also condemned the implementation of the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in Uttarakhand, labeling it as anti-Muslim. The AIMPLB plans to pursue legal and peaceful avenues to oppose both the Waqf bill and the UCC, calling for solidarity among all religious communities.
