Grand Ayatollah Shirazi Calls on World to Benefit from Islamic Laws in Addressing Social Crises

Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Sadiq al-Husayni al-Shirazi has called on people around the world, including non-Muslim societies, to benefit from Islamic teachings and laws in various aspects of life, stating that adherence to divine legislation can contribute to human happiness and help address many social challenges.
The senior Shia religious authority said that the call to follow Islamic teachings is not limited to Muslim countries, emphasizing that applying Islamic principles in all areas of life could help societies achieve greater well-being.
His Eminence stated that true happiness is linked to implementing the laws of God mentioned in the Holy Quran, as well as the teachings, words, actions, and traditions of the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him and his family) and the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them).
Addressing contemporary social problems, he pointed to issues such as crime, saying that factors including poverty and psychological pressures contribute to many offenses, and argued that Islamic laws in related fields could help address some of the causes behind these challenges.
He also highlighted rising divorce rates in many societies, describing divorce as a widespread issue affecting both Muslim and non-Muslim countries. He said that the presence of such problems in societies associated with Islam requires a review of the practical commitment to Islamic teachings rather than merely identifying with them.
