A bus accident in Uttarakhand, northern India, left at least 36 dead and six injured after the vehicle plunged into a gorge on Monday, according to officials.
The bus, carrying at least 42 passengers, was traveling from Garhwal in the Himalayas to Ramnagar when the incident occurred, local police officer told Reuters.
Visuals from ANI showed the bus overturned near a river at the bottom of a hill. State Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami announced on X that an investigation would be conducted to determine the cause of the accident.
