Ukrainian newspaper publishes picture of Arabeen pilgrim on its best photos list

As part of its monthly report on the best photos around the world, the semi-official Ukrainian newspaper “Zaborona” published a picture of a Shia pilgrim heading towards the holy city of Karbala.

The newspaper said in its caption of the picture that “It belongs to a Shia pilgrim, carrying a symbolic image of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him), standing in the middle of a muddy road near the Gulf water, as he readies to set off on foot to Holy Karbala.”

The Ukrainian newspaper pointed out that, “Large crowds set off on an on-foot journey from the all over Iraq towards the holy cities of Najaf and Karbala to commemorate the Arbaeen Pilgrimage of the Prohibition grandson, Imam Hussein, peace be upon them.”

It said that the picture was taken by the Iraqi photographer “Hussein Faleh” in August 13th, 2023.
