Imam Ali Holy Shrine preparing to serve pilgrims of Hosseini Arbaeen
Imam Ali Holy Shrine has prepared a wide space in the outer area of Heydari courtyard to welcome millions of Arbaeen pilgrims who move from there towards the shrine of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him).
Currently, the expansion project continues in the south side in front of Bab al-Qibla and Bab al-Faraj with the construction of a large seven-meter-high roof with an Islamic architectural design to cover an area of two thousand square meters, said Engineer Mustafa Mahbubeh, head of the engineering and technical affairs department, about the space prepared to serve the pilgrims.
Mahbubeh added that fire resistant materials have been used in the construction of this structure.
This roofed structure provides comfort services for pilgrims, including drinking water, ablution place, fans, and lighting, this official further noted.
“With the expansion of the northern side (Bab Tousi), a space of more than two thousand square meters with a capacity of 10 thousand pilgrims will be provided,” he said, adding that, preparation work is still going on and another space is being prepared at Imam Reza Bab (peace be upon him).
The secretariat of Imam Ali Shrine has prepared a large service program that includes the development of large places for serving food and drinks, rest stations, and various service bases in order to provide the best services to pilgrims from inside and outside Iraq who are moving to the holy city of Karbala for the Arbaeen ceremony.
