More than 13,000 service units mobilized to serve honourable Arbaeen pilgrims
More than 13,000 Mawakib (service units) have been mobilized in the holy city of Karbala and other provinces to provide services to the ever-growing number of pilgrims.
The Governor of Holy Karbala, Nassif Jassim Al-Khattabi, stated that more than 13,000 service units and 4,000 sanitation workers are participating in providing services during the Holy Arba’een Pilgrimage.
Al-Khattabi also mentioned the launch of the ‘Zair Imam Hussain’ app, which includes 750 guiding locations such as hotels, locations of medical teams, routes, hussainiyas, and restaurants, all marked on updated maps.
Similarly, the media director of the Kufa Mosque Secretariat, Waqas Al-Fatlawi, explained that it has become a yearly tradition for pilgrims to visit the Kufa Mosque to pray at the Mihrab of Imam Ali, peace be upon him, and visit the shrine of Muslim bin Aqeel, peace be upon him.
The honourable pilgrims then head to Holy Najaf to visit the holy shrine of Imam Ali, peace be upon him, before embarking on the journey from Holy Najaf to Holy Karbala.
Al-Fatlawi explained that the mosque’s hosting services have increased the number of daily meals from 25,000 to 50,000, along with the distribution of water, food, and financial aid among the service units.
The Director of the Red Crescent Society in Holy Karbala, Falah Muhammad Redha, pointed out that an operational field unit has been formed, consisting of more than 2,000 paramedics to provide services to the pilgrims during the Holy Arbaeen pilgrimage.
