Iraq: Husseini Rituals and Processions Department begins preparations for Holy Arba’een Pilgrimage
The Department of Rituals, Processions, and Husseini Mawakib in Iraq and the Islamic World, affiliated to Imam Hussein and Al-Abbas Holy Shrines, held a meeting in the presence of representatives of the Husseini Mawakib in Babylon in preparation for the Holy Arbaeen Pilgrimage.
Mr. Muhammad al-Tawil, the Assistant Head of the Department, stated, “The meeting was part of a plan to assess and provide for the needs of the Mawakib in Iraq in preparation for the Holy Arbaeen Pilgrimage.”
Al-Tawil explained, “The meeting included extensive discussions, in addition to dividing the Husseini Mawakib into service and mourning units to serve the honourable pilgrims, considering that Babylon is one of the resting places for the pilgrims during their journey toward Holy Karbala.”
It is expected that this year the holy city of Karbala will witness an increase in the number of Hussaini Mawakib participating in providing services and reviving the Hussaini Cause during the months of Muharram and Safar, including Mawakib coming from Arab and foreign countries.
