Construction works of Sayyeda Zainab Courtyard reach advanced development stages
The construction project of Sayyeda Zainab Holy Courtyard in Holy Karbala is witnessing significant development stages, with the walls being adorned with marble and Karbala’s distinctive tiles.
The project, established by Imam Hussein Holy Shrine to accommodate the increasing number of visitors, is located in the southwest of the holy shrine on a 50,000 square meter land with a built-up area exceeding 120,000 square meters.
The project includes important facilities, such as a service area covering 36,000 square meters, a guesthouse for visitors on an area of 14,000 square meters with two underground and two above-ground floors, and a separate building for health units with 600 units providing various services.
The most important part of the courtyard is the Zainabi Tel (Mound) designated for worship rituals, as well as the tent of Al-Fustat where Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, used to place the bodies of the martyrs of the Taf battle.
Additionally, the courtyard houses a library for disseminating various sciences and a manuscripts house covering a total area of 10,000 square meters, along with a museum displaying the possessions of the holy shrine and gifts presented to the shrine of Imam Hussein on a 6,000 square meter area.
