On her blessed birth, Islamabad inaugurates Fatima al-Zahra Mosque
Media outlets reported that the Pakistani capital Islamabad witnessed the opening of a new mosque for the Shia followers of Ahlulbayt, peace be upon them, named after Sayyeda Fatima al-Zahra, peace be upon her, in addition to laying the foundation stone for the establishment of a special academy to house orphans.
According to the reports, the new mosque was inaugurated on the occasion of the blessed birth of the Lady of Women of the Worlds, in the presence of scholars and cultural figures, as well as the participation of a delegation from Al-Abbas Holy Shrine.
They continued that “the believers in the city welcomed the good news for establishing the Zainabia Academy for housing orphans, located in one of the villages in Islamabad.”
Media reports also quoted Dr. Afzal al-Shami, head of the delegation from Al-Abbas Holy Shrine, as saying: “The delegation participated in the opening ceremony of Fatima al-Zahra Mosque and the stone-laying ceremony of the Zainabia Academy.”
The capital of Islamabad had witnessed, two days earlier, the opening of the activities of the first women’s festival, which was held on the occasion of the birth of Sayyeda Fatima al-Zahra, peace be upon her, and under the slogan “Fatima is Our Role Model.”
