Morocco government announces latest statistics of Maghreb earthquake victims
Morocco’s government spokesperson announced that the death toll of the devastating earthquake which hit Morocco on September 8 rose to 2,960 victims as of September 27.
The official emphasized the continuation of efforts to rebuild homes and help the affected families, including a budget that will provide direct financial assistance to victim families.
On September 8, a 7-magnitude earthquake shook several Moroccan cities, such as Rabat, its capital, ad-Dar al-Bayda, Meknes, Fes, and Marrakesh, located in the north, in addition to the central regions of Agadir and Taroudant.
According to the latest update from the Ministry of Interior of Morocco, this earthquake has left 6125 injured and other major damages in addition to many deaths.
