Medical personnel from Islamic, Arab and foreign countries provided free services to Ashura pilgrims
The Imam Hussein Holy Shrine has announced that large numbers of doctors and medical personnel volunteered to work in hospitals and health centers in the holy city of Karbala to provide medical services to the honorable pilgrims of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, on the day of Ashura.
The head of the Health and Medical Education Authority at the Imam Hussein Holy Shrine, Dr. Haider al-Abdi, said in a statement seen Shia Waves Agency, “the medical team consisting of one hundred specialists, including thirty-two doctors and other specialized health personnel, joined our medical staff around the Holy Shrines.”
He pointed out that “the medical volunteers came from twelve Arab, Islamic and foreign countries, namely Kuwait, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, America, Australia, Pakistan, the United Arab Emirates, Finland and Britain to provide medical and health services to the honorable pilgrims.”
It should be mentioned that millions of Shia Muslims, from Iraq and other countries, commemorated Ashura and mourning rituals over the first ten days of the holy month of Muharram, amid tight security and service plans.
