The general delegate of the French Council for the Islamic Faith, and head of the French Observatory Against Islamophobia, Abdullah Zakri, has blamed the French police for fueling riots in France, following the murder of the young man Nayel Marzouki in the city of “Nanterre”.
Zaki considered what is happening “an inevitable result of numerous accumulations fueled by hate speech and discrimination led by the far right”.
The head of the French Observatory Against Islamophobia said that over the past three years, violence against migrants has grown alarmingly, “a dangerous situation that must be faced with justice, to prevent the recurrence of such incidents that lead to dangerous and undesirable consequences”.
Zakri appealed to the parents of immigrants to exercise self-restraint to overcome the crisis, considering acts of vandalism and sabotage, “is not a solution because it gives a bad impression of immigrants,” calling on expatriates to show solidarity with each other and to organize themselves to repel what they may be exposed to, until this unprecedented crisis ends”.
Zakri concluded that the incident of Nael’s murder should be a turning point in France’s policy towards migrants, by putting an end to the policy of discrimination and racism that it has become openly practiced, correcting the situation and reducing hate speech and racism, especially as it was criticized by the United Nations in its recent report.
