Muslims in Srinagar prevented from Eid prayer at Jamia Masjid
Jammu and Kashmir officials disallowed the congregational Eid prayers at Srinagar’s Jamia Masjid for the fourth consecutive year.
The management of the mosque criticized the unreasonable condition set by authorities, which restricted the prayers time until before 7.30 a.m., saying they had already arranged the event for 9:00.
Confused at the decision, the board of the Grand Mosque stated: other mosques in the area were allowed to hold the Eid prayer at later time, adding that special night prayers and congregation on last Friday of Ramadan had passed off peacefully.
It is worth mentioning that Indian Government has staged several acts against Muslims over the past decades.
