The World Non-Violence Organization, Free Muslim, affiliated with the Imam al-Shirazi International Foundation in Washington DC issued a statement, following the ongoing protests across US states after the racist behavior of the police with black Americans.
The statement said, “Despite the guaranteed freedoms and democracy pursued in the existing system of government in the United States of America, the class difference and racial discrimination are still among the most prominent phenomena in the country, and this was recently demonstrated by the incident of the late George Floyd who was killed by a group of Minnesota police officers.”
The organization’s statement added, “This tragic incident provoked the disgust of the majority of US citizens.”
The statement called on the American authorities to speed up effective measures to address racist practices issued by people, groups, or official or semi-official entities, by enacting effective laws that are able to protect human rights in a fair and equal manner, regardless of color.
