Thousands of the Shia followers of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) in Iraq spent the last day of 2022 near the holy shrines in Iraq.
The holy shrines in Karbala, Najaf, Kadhimiya and Samarra witnessed the arrival of thousands of pilgrims (men and women) to perform the blessed visit and be honored with the start of a new year.
The pilgrims expressed their happiness at the advent of the New Year, while they were praying and supplicating to hasten the re-appearance of Imam Mahdi, peace be upon him.
