Iraqi forces arrest terrorist sleeper cell in Kirkuk
The Iraqi Intelligence Agency announced today that it has arrested a terrorist sleeper cell in Kirkuk.
The cell said in a statement, “The detachments of the Intelligence Agency represented by the Kirkuk Intelligence Directorate in the Ministry of Interior were able to arrest a sleeper terrorist cell consisting of four terrorists in separate areas of Kirkuk province, in accordance with the provisions of Article 4 terrorism for their affiliation with ISIS terrorist gangs.”
It added that through preliminary investigations with them, they confessed to their affiliation with ISIS and their involvement in several terrorist operations, including the so-called Battle of Tal Esqar in 2015 against the Peshmerga forces and the invasion of Al-Dhabab in Kirkuk province.
