The World Health Organization (WHO) says more than 9,000 people have been killed or injured in Yemen since August 2026 amid renewed military escalation, warning that the country’s healthcare system and humanitarian situation are deteriorating.

According to figures reported by Anadolu Agency, the violence has killed 1,677 people and injured 7,395 others. The WHO also recorded 559 casualties between October 20 and 25, including 103 deaths and 456 injuries.

The organization warned of shortages of medicines, fuel and water, and reported that only six of 31 mobile health facilities remain operational in Marib. It has delivered around 30 tonnes of medical supplies to hospitals and health facilities in Taiz.

Fighting has continued in Taiz, Lahj and Marib, while damage to medical facilities and disrupted essential services have increased the risks facing civilians.
