The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has reported that 487 people, including 66 women and 41 children, were killed in 440 criminal incidents across Syria between the beginning of 2026 and October 27. The organization warned that deteriorating security and the widespread availability of weapons continue to threaten civilian safety.
According to the report released on Tuesday, Aleppo recorded the highest number of criminal incidents, followed by Rural Damascus and Deir ez-Zor. Monthly fatalities varied, with September recording 58 deaths, while 53 people were killed in criminal incidents during October.
The Observatory warned that recurring killings and the spread of weapons are increasing public fears and undermining stability and social peace across the country. It called on the relevant authorities to strengthen security, protect civilians, conduct transparent investigations and bring those responsible to justice.
The organization also urged authorities to provide additional protection for women, children and other vulnerable groups, stressing the need to address impunity and prevent further violence.
