Fans of Al-Minaa Sports Club gathered at Basra Stadium in Iraq to commemorate the martyrdom anniversary of Lady Fatima al-Zahra (peace be upon her) ahead of their team’s match against Al-Karma, coinciding with the Fatimid days observed by followers of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them).

The supporters chanted traditional Fatimid mourning slogans in unison, including “Hali Yawm, Hali Yawm, Nu‘azzi Fatima” (“Today, today, we offer condolences to Fatima”), expressing their grief and offering condolences to the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them). The chants drew a response from other spectators in the stands.

Fans also raised mourning banners in remembrance of Lady Fatima al-Zahra (peace be upon her) and recited Surah Al-Fatiha, expressing their condolences to the family of the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him and his family) and their followers on the solemn occasion.

The initiative took place before the football match between Al-Minaa and Al-Karma, transforming part of the stadium into a space for religious commemoration alongside sporting support for the team.

The initiative coincided with Fatimid commemorations taking place in several Iraqi cities, where mourning assemblies and religious events are being held to remember the suffering of Lady Fatima al-Zahra (peace be upon her), highlight her status and introduce the public to her life and legacy.
