A foundation stone has been laid for the “Zainabiyya Islamic Seminary,” an educational institution dedicated to girls’ education in the historic village of Ahmad Pora in Baramulla district, Kashmir.
The ceremony was held on the 12th anniversary of the passing of Hujjat al-Islam wal-Muslimeen Maulana Iftikhar Hussain Ansari, with the participation of religious scholars and community figures.
The new seminary aims to provide girls with education in religious sciences alongside modern studies and vocational training, with the goal of empowering female students and supporting their role in community development.
The event was attended by several prominent scholars, including representatives of Shia religious institutions in India. Speakers highlighted the importance of investing in girls’ education and described it as a key factor in building future generations and strengthening society.
Participants also praised the donation of land for the project and called on members of the community to contribute to completing the educational center.
Organizers said the Zainabiyya Seminary is part of a long-term educational plan to offer students religious, academic, and professional training. The ceremony also included discussions about future plans to establish an engineering university at the same location, before concluding with prayers for the success of the project.
