Tragedy Strikes Mumbai as Massive Billboard Collapse Kills 14

At least 14 people have been killed and dozens injured after a large billboard collapsed during a thunderstorm in Mumbai, Al Jazeera reported yesterday.

The 30-meter-tall billboard, reportedly installed illegally, fell onto nearby houses and a petrol station in the Ghatkopar suburb on Monday evening, the source added.

According to local authorities, the billboard was brought down by gusty winds and heavy rain.

Mumbai’s municipal corporation confirmed 74 people were hospitalized, with 31 later discharged.
