The holy city of Qom witnessed a spiritually uplifting atmosphere as it commemorated the anniversary of the arrival of Lady Fatima al-Masoumeh (peace be upon her), the revered daughter of Imam Musa al-Kadhim (peace be upon him) and a distinguished figure from the household of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him and his family).
A symbolic procession was held to honor her blessed migration to Qom, an event that transformed the city into a major center of knowledge, spirituality, and the teachings of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them).
The commemoration, held on Saturday and coinciding with the 23rd of Rabi’ al-Awwal, was attended by residents of Qom and visitors from around the world who gathered at the holy shrine of Lady al-Masoumeh (peace be upon her) to renew their devotion and express their love for the noble family of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him and his family).
The streets of Qom were filled with joy and religious celebrations, with various programs organized to mark the historic occasion. Participants emphasized that the arrival of Lady al-Masoumeh (peace be upon her) in Qom was not merely a historical event, but a turning point that greatly influenced the development of Islamic sciences, culture, society, and spirituality. Her blessed presence continues to inspire generations, especially women and families, as a symbol of faith, patience, dignity, and resistance against injustice.
Organizers of the symbolic caravan highlighted the importance of introducing the life and virtues of Lady al-Masoumeh (peace be upon her) to people around the world, stressing the role of media in spreading awareness about her exemplary character and her lasting spiritual influence.
The people of Qom and its visitors remember this day as one of the most significant occasions in the history of the city, recalling the warm welcome received by Lady al-Masoumeh (peace be upon her) upon her arrival in the year 201 AH while traveling to meet her brother, Imam Ali ibn Musa al-Ridha (peace be upon him). She was welcomed by the people of Qom and hosted by Musa ibn Khazraj, one of the city’s prominent figures at that time. His home later became a place of worship and devotion, preserving the memory of the noble lady until her martyrdom.
Today, the annual commemoration reflects the deep love and attachment of the people of Qom and visitors from across the world to Lady Fatima al-Masoumeh (peace be upon her), whose blessed presence continues to illuminate the city and inspire followers of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them).
