Al-Kadhimiya Holy Shrine Completes Mourning Flags Ahead of Muharram

The Al-Kadhimiya Holy Shrine has completed the sewing and preparation of the black mourning flags and banners ahead of the upcoming month of Muharram.

According to Shia Waves News Agency, artisans and shrine workers hand-crafted the inscriptions and flags emblazoned with the names of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him) and the martyrs of Karbala. These banners are set to be raised across the domes and walls of the holy shrine of the Jawadayn (Imam Musa al-Kadhim and Imam Muhammad al-Jawad, peace be upon them both). The traditional ceremony replacing the red flags with black mourning banners will take place on the first night of Muharram.
