Nearly 200 young Muslims participated in the second annual “The Mosque in My Life” art competition, an initiative designed to deepen the cultural and emotional connection between the youth and Bulgaria’s Islamic heritage. According to IQNA and the Office of the Supreme Mufti of Bulgaria, the contest encouraged participants to express the spiritual role of mosques through painting, poetry, and prose.

According to organizers, the competition featured three age groups ranging from 7 to 25 years old. The painting category specifically highlighted five iconic historical landmarks, including the Kurshumlu Mosque in Silistra and the Sari Hussein Mosque in Provadia. The Supreme Mufti’s office awarded cash prizes to the top three winners in each discipline, praising the participants’ creativity. According to the Muftiate, such initiatives are vital for preserving history and ensuring that Bulgaria’s historic mosques remain vibrant centers for new generations.
