Iraq’s Joint Operations Command announced that an airstrike by the Iraqi Air Force targeted an ISIS hideout in Wadi al-Shay, east of Salahuddin province, killing all militants inside.

According to Al-Araby Al-Jadeed, the strike also destroyed weapons and equipment stored at the site.

Security forces confirmed that operations to track down remaining ISIS elements are ongoing to prevent any resurgence of the extremist group.

Military experts stressed that eliminating hideouts and strengthening intelligence cooperation with local residents are vital to maintaining stability and security in towns and villages across the region.

Preventive operations, they added, remain essential to avert a new wave of terrorist attacks.
