Saudi Arabia’s Humain, an AI company owned by the Public Investment Fund, has launched Humain Chat, the first Arabic AI chatbot built with a focus on Islamic values and cultural heritage, The Indian Express reported.

Powered by the company’s proprietary large language model, Allam 34B, the chatbot was trained on over eight petabytes of Arabic-centric data. The development team included 120 specialists, with half being women, a detail highlighted by Humain’s CEO, Tareq Amin, as a milestone in utilizing local talent.

Humain Chat is designed to be culturally fluent, supporting both Modern Standard Arabic and 26 regional dialects, including Saudi, Egyptian, Jordanian, and Lebanese. It also includes built-in safeguards to ensure responses align with the region’s cultural, social, and political norms.

The chatbot is currently available in Saudi Arabia on web, iOS, and Android platforms, with plans for regional and global expansion. The project is seen as a key initiative under Saudi Vision 2030, aiming to position the Kingdom as a leader in AI innovation.
