Misbah Al-Hussain School in Afghanistan’s Herat Continues Educating Migrant and Orphaned Children
……………………..
Misbah Al-Hussain School in the city of Herat, western Afghanistan, continues to provide educational services to hundreds of students from migrant families and orphans, amid complex humanitarian and educational conditions in the country, especially following the large wave of deportations of Afghans returning from Iran.
According to local sources, the school welcomes hundreds of boys and girls daily, from kindergarten through high school, divided into three study shifts, in an effort to make up for the severe shortage of educational institutions in Afghanistan.
The school, established by the Misbah Al-Hussain Foundation for Relief and Development and operating under the supervision of the Office of the Supreme Religious Authority, Grand Ayatollah Sayed Sadiq Al-Husseini Al-Shirazi, plays an important role in ensuring the right to education for deprived children, especially those from displaced families and the most vulnerable groups, particularly orphans.
The school’s administrators affirmed that the initiative stems from the directives of Grand Ayatollah Al-Shirazi, emphasizing the need to care for orphans and the poor, and to work on educating and rehabilitating them, especially in environments where the educational system is collapsing. They noted that many of these children would not have had the chance to enroll in any other school due to the absence or limited capacity of educational institutions.
Earlier, the Misbah Al-Hussain Relief and Development Foundation announced the establishment of this school in Herat to serve as an educational and humanitarian beacon dedicated to teaching children and providing them with proper care in a society suffering from the consequences of war, poverty, and displacement.
