Arab and Muslim Nations Call for Ceasefire and De-Escalation Amid Israel-Iran Tensions
—————————
In a united front, twenty-one Arab and Muslim countries condemned Israel’s recent airstrikes on Iran, urging regional de-escalation and respect for international law, Khaama Press reported. The joint statement, initiated by Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty, emphasizes the urgent need to halt hostilities that threaten regional stability, amidst escalating tensions and growing casualties on both sides.

Participating nations—including Egypt, Jordan, Pakistan, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and several Gulf states—strongly condemned the attacks, labeling them violations of international law and UN principles. They called for the immediate cessation of Israeli military actions, advocating for comprehensive diplomatic efforts to resolve disputes peacefully. The statement also highlighted the importance of respecting sovereignty, territorial integrity, and nuclear disarmament without selectivity.

Tensions have surged as Israel intensifies efforts to neutralize what it perceives as Iran’s nuclear threat, while Iran asserts its right to resistance against foreign aggression. The escalating conflict has already caused immense civilian suffering and threatens to widen into a broader regional war if diplomacy fails. International actors are urged to step up mediatory efforts to prevent further escalation and achieve a sustainable ceasefire, amid fears of destabilization across the Middle East.
