Iraq’s Ministry of Interior has announced a complete ban on protests from May 11 to May 20 as part of heightened security measures ahead of the Arab League Summit in Baghdad.

The ministry warned that any attempt to protest, regardless of the reason, will be considered illegal. Security forces have been instructed to arrest violators and take necessary legal actions.

The 34th regular Arab Summit is scheduled for May 17, with preparations already underway for the high-level meeting in the capital, Baghdad.
