Dearborn hosts first U.S. Arab Culture, Arts, and Book Fair

Dearborn, Michigan, hosted the inaugural “America International Arab Culture, Arts, and Book Fair” last weekend at the Ford Performing Arts Center, as part of National Arab American Heritage Month. The four-day event aimed to highlight Arab cultural contributions in the United States and promote cross-cultural understanding.

Organized by local cultural leaders, the fair featured a diverse program including art performances, literary discussions, heritage bazaars, and hands-on workshops. Attendees explored Arabic and English books, participated in calligraphy, embroidery, storytelling, and culinary sessions, and enjoyed traditional arts from across the Arab world.

The event drew significant interest from Arab-American communities and local residents. Panel discussions addressed key topics such as teaching Arabic in the U.S., preserving immigrant identity, Arab-American media, Islamophobia, and the role of civil society organizations. As the first of its kind in the U.S., the fair reflects growing efforts to celebrate Arab-American heritage and foster dialogue within American society.
