EU Provides €250,000 Emergency Aid for Afghan Migrants Expelled from Pakistan

The European Union has allocated €250,000 in emergency funding to the International Federation of Red Cross to support Afghan migrants forcibly returned from Pakistan, Khaama Press reported. The aid will provide critical shelter, healthcare, clean water, and food supplies to thousands facing homelessness and extreme poverty.
Andreas Papaconstantinou, the EU’s Director for the Middle East and Central Asia, confirmed the assistance during a visit to Peshawar, where he met affected families. “These migrants have lost everything and face an uncertain future,” he stated, praising their resilience.
The UN reports over 120,000 Afghan migrants have been expelled from Pakistan in just three weeks following Islamabad’s crackdown on undocumented foreigners. Returnees struggle with Afghanistan’s collapsed economy and minimal infrastructure.
This EU intervention highlights the urgent need for international cooperation to address the humanitarian crisis.
