Grand Ayatollah Bashir al-Najafi: True Islam upholds justice and human dignity

Grand Ayatollah Sheikh Bashir Hussein al-Najafi emphasized that authentic Muhammadan Islam, as taught by Ahlulbayt (peace be upon them), represents the true system of values, justice, and human dignity, ensuring peace and happiness for humanity. His remarks came during a meeting with a delegation of Ahlulbayt followers from Turkey’s Alawi community, visiting Iraq’s holy shrines.
He urged believers to embrace piety and self-accountability, highlighting that the Imams of Ahlulbayt placed great importance on self-reflection as a path to spiritual growth and discernment. Grand Ayatollah al-Najafi also stressed that shrine visits should go beyond rituals, serving as moments for moral and spiritual refinement, calling on visitors to embody the teachings of Ahlulbayt in their daily lives.
Grand Ayatollah Bashir al-Najafi further noted the significance of Iraq’s holy cities and their seminaries, which have produced generations of scholars dedicated to preserving Islam and human dignity—values epitomized by Imam Hussain’s sacrifice.
