Muslim Mental Health Conference highlights resilience and collective care

The 17th annual Muslim Mental Health Conference was held April 11–12 at the Soho Banquet Center in Westland and online, drawing hundreds of participants. This year’s theme, “Building Resilience Through Resistance and Collective Care,” focused on research and clinical approaches to mental health in Muslim communities.
Board member Aquila Hussain emphasized the importance of academic dialogue, representation, and destigmatizing mental health. The event brought together clinicians, researchers, and professionals from diverse backgrounds to address mental health needs in underrepresented Muslim populations and promote compassionate, culturally informed care across communities.
