Morocco’s King Grants Clemency to Over 1,500 Prisoners for Eid al-Fitr

On the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, Morocco’s King Mohammed VI has pardoned 1,533 prisoners, as announced by the Justice Ministry, Anadolu Agency reported. Under Article 58 of the Constitution, the king has the authority to grant clemency to individuals convicted of various offenses during national or religious celebrations.

Among those pardoned, 31 had been convicted of extremism and terrorism-related charges. These individuals reportedly received royal leniency after renouncing their extremist views, reassessing their ideological beliefs, and demonstrating their commitment to national principles.
