Protest Against Waqf Amendment Bill in Patna

The All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) and various Muslim groups protested against the Waqf Amendment Bill in Patna, following a massive demonstration in New Delhi, Clarion reported. Prominent leaders, including RJD’s Lalu Yadav and Tejashwi Yadav, joined the protest, emphasizing their commitment to the Constitution and opposing the bill.

Tejashwi criticized the central government for undermining democracy and the Constitution, stating that RJD legislators attempted to debate the bill but faced disruptions. He condemned parties supporting the bill for political gain.

Samajwadi MP Mohibulla Nadvi accused the Modi government of discriminatory treatment towards Muslims and called for unity among marginalized communities to protect their rights. He stressed that the fight for the Constitution involves both Hindus and Muslims.

AIMIM’s Akhtarul Iman labeled the Waqf bill a “black law,” warning it could lead to civil unrest and destruction of religious sites. IUML’s ET Basheer asserted that the bill threatens Waqf properties, while a Buddhist leader criticized the government’s divisive tactics, urging an end to targeting religious places.
