Ongoing development of “Ya Hussein” and “Ya Ali” roads to serve Karbala pilgrims

Iraqi engineering and technical teams continue their dedicated efforts to implement the rehabilitation and development project for the “Ya Hussein” and “Ya Ali” roads along the Karbala-Najaf route. The project is part of the infrastructure development plan for mass pilgrimage events, following directives from the Governor of Karbala, Engineer Nassif Jassem Al-Khattabi.
According to a statement from the Government Media and Communications Office, obtained by Shia Waves Agency, the project aims to enhance infrastructure and provide exceptional services for pilgrims during major religious seasons. It focuses on improving traffic flow and designating pedestrian pathways to ensure pilgrims can reach the holy shrines safely and smoothly.
This initiative is part of a broader development strategy aimed at upgrading public services in Holy Karbala, in line with its status as a global religious and tourist destination. The development work includes road expansion, upgraded lighting, and the construction of rest areas and service spaces to accommodate the millions of visitors who travel to the city throughout the year.
