The strikes targeted the Nava crossing and surrounding areas, prompting residents to flee their homes in search of safety. The attack resulted in numerous casualties, with dozens reportedly dead or injured.

The Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed the operation aimed at Pakistani Taliban militants in border regions, citing ongoing tensions between the two nations. Islamabad has accused the Taliban of sheltering Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) militants, a claim the Taliban denies. This incident follows previous bombardments by Pakistan in Paktika and Khost provinces.
