Malaysia launches initiative to replace unlicensed Qurans for accuracy and safety

Malaysia’s Ministry of Home Affairs has initiated a program to replace old or damaged Qurans with officially licensed copies to ensure the accuracy of daily-used texts.

At a three-day exhibition in Kuala Lumpur, many unlicensed or worn-out copies were exchanged for new ones.

Officials noted frequent errors in unlicensed Qurans, such as incomplete verses and pagination issues.

The initiative aligns with Malaysia’s Quran Printing Act of 1986, which mandates official approval for Quran distribution and printing.
