Open Mosque Day in Japan promotes understanding of Islam and Islamic culture

The Islamic Center in Japan, in collaboration with Tokyo Mosque, organized an “Open Mosque Day” to introduce non-Muslim Japanese visitors to Islam and Islamic culture. The event attracted around 85 visitors, including some walk-ins. Supported by a Japanese Muslim donor, similar events are planned every three months.

The event featured guided mosque tours and a lecture on Islam, focusing on monotheism and the Holy Quran, followed by an open Q&A session. Many visitors expressed a strong interest in learning about Islam, emphasizing the importance of fostering coexistence and mutual understanding.

Organizers highlighted that such initiatives build bridges with the local community, helping to dispel misconceptions and deepen cultural awareness through direct engagement.
