On the International Day of Non-Violence, the Freemuslim Association—an international anti-violence organization—expressed its deep concern over the increasing waves of violence in various regions around the world, calling on the international community, especially major powers, to take urgent steps to curb the deteriorating security and humanitarian situation.
In a statement received by Shia Waves Agency, the organization emphasized the responsibility of the permanent member states of the UN Security Council, stressing the importance of these nations bearing their legal and moral responsibilities.
The Freemuslim urged prioritizing the greater humanitarian interest and taking immediate action to end wars and armed conflicts, with a specific focus on the ongoing Israeli aggression against Palestine and Lebanon.
The organization stated that the ongoing conflicts around the world represent a catastrophic challenge for the international community, as innocent civilians bear the greatest cost, adding that “Many of the victims are people who have no involvement in the current conflicts, yet they lose their lives, their cities are destroyed, and their possessions are taken.”
International statistics indicate that ongoing wars have resulted in the death and displacement of millions of innocent people, leaving behind dead, injured, and displaced persons.
The organization called on influential global political powers to enforce a state of calm and halt all hostilities, while also emphasizing the importance of fostering dialogue and diplomatic understanding, stressing the need to adhere to international and humanitarian law to protect civilian lives and spare them the horrors of war.
