Millions of Shia followers of Ahlulbayt, peace be upon them, are now converging on the holy city of Karbala to observe the Flag-Changing ceremonies, which are scheduled to take place tonight, after the Maghrib and Isha prayers.
According to officials at the holy shrines of Imam Hussein and Abu al-Fadl al-Abbas, peace be upon them, all preparations and arrangements have been taken to observe this event, amid tight security plans.
The banners atop domes of the two holy shrines, which are currently red, will be replaced with black ones, signaling the beginning of the month of sorrows, Holy Muharram.
