Iraq among top 10 buyers of gold in world, research unit reveals

Three Arab countries, including Iraq, appeared in the list of the top 10 gold buyers in 2023.

Recent data collected by the Energy Research Unit shows that the central banks of Libya, Iraq and Qatar were among the top 10 gold-buying banks in 2023.

The National Bank of China stands at the top of the central banks in terms of buying gold, followed by Poland and the Central Bank of Singapore, as gold buyers from developed countries.

Banks of Libya, Czech Republic, India, Iraq, Qatar, Philippines and Kyrgyzstan occupied the fifth to the tenth places in this list.
