Quran desecrated in Saudi Arabia

A video was released in several social media networks showing the desecration of the Quran in the city of Khaybar, some 160 km to the north of Medina.

Social media users have condemned the incident and called for brining those behind it to justice.

They ranged from discarding Qurans in drainage systems to desecration of Quran by prison guards.

In 2017, a large number of copies of the Holy Quran were founded discarded in the street drainage system in one of the district of Taif.

In 2014, a Saudi citizen found torn copies of Islam’s Holy Book in garbage cans again in the same city.

In 2013, Quran copies were found in the sewage system in Taif.

Later that year, insulting the Holy Book by prison officials in Al-Haer province led to protests in different parts of the country.
