The managing committee secretary of Janapriya Lake Front Society in Kapra, on the outskirts of Hyderabad, has issued an unconditional apology after calling a teenage Muslim boy “Pakistani” during an argument.

The incident took place on June 19 during a dispute over an unregistered tenant. A video of the altercation went viral, showing the secretary repeatedly questioning the teenager’s identity and asking why he was staying there.

The boy angrily rejected the remark, saying he was Indian and pointing out that his grandfather had served as a Subedar in the Indian Army. In another video, he alleged that the secretary had also accused his family of being in the country “to plant bombs,” while police at the scene failed to intervene effectively.

The secretary later apologized to the boy and to everyone hurt by his comments, saying the remarks were not intentional. He added that he respected the Muslim community and had no intention of insulting it.

The incident drew sharp criticism from political parties including MBT, TRS, and AIMIM, which demanded action against the secretary. The apology came amid public outrage and concerns over communal harmony in Hyderabad.
