MPs call for tighter security in Jaghori and Malistan

After weeks of conflict that gripped the Shia populated Jaghori and Malistan districts of Ghazni province, Afghanistan a number MPs from the province on Monday thanked security forces for retaking fallen areas from the Taliban but accused government of having been negligent in maintaining security in the region.  

 

After weeks of conflict that gripped the Shia populated Jaghori and Malistan districts of Ghazni province, Afghanistan a number MPs from the province on Monday thanked security forces for retaking fallen areas from the Taliban but accused government of having been negligent in maintaining security in the region.  

The MPs said due to government’s negligence regarding Jaghori and Malistan districts in Ghazni and Khas Uruzgan district in Uruzgan province, the Taliban were easily able to infiltrate the districts and cause security problems. 

The MPs also said civilians have paid a high price these past few weeks in the districts and that in some cases, all the male members of families were killed.
