The returning officer has rejected the nomination papers of chief of outlawed takfirist terrorist group ASWJ Ahmed Ludhianvi making him ineligible to contest Elections 2018 from Jhang constituency.

Fearing similar fate, Muawia Azam, another ASWJ’s ringleader from Jhang, withdrew his nomination papers after objections were raised against the participation of banned terrorist outfit’s ringleaders.

On behalf of Syed Hassan Shah Tirmizi, advocate Syed Sikandar Abbas Pareeshan Gilani and advocate Mirza Salman Hyderi filed objections to the nomination papers of the outlawed ASWJ’s ringleaders. They cited legal and constitutional bars on their candidacies. Their arguments were accepted and the two notorious ringleaders of banned ASWJ were thrown out of electoral contests.
